About Me

Hi I’m Tanya. I’ve been a stylist for 19 years. I started in a high end salon and I was there for 10 years, before branching out with Nina and opening our own salon suite. During that 10 years, I was part of a design team that traveled the US for photo shoots and many educational events. After we outgrew our small space, we expanded to the amazing salon and spa we have today. I love what I do, and I live to make people feel good and laugh. I love being a girl mom, dog mom, and wife to my amazing little family. I cherish my family and friends - they are my whole world. I try to live in the moment and enjoy the little things in life, because those are the most important.

What do you love most about your job?

I think the best thing about my job is it doesn’t feel like a job. I laugh, I sing, I have fun. It’s an honor that people trust me with their hair. Having the opportunity to make someone feel confident and beautiful is amazing. Being behind the chair everyday is such an incredible experience.

Why do you love working at Lumari?

Lumari Salon and Spa was created from love and friendship. The culture is welcoming and full of positivity. Everyone is happy and loves what they do, and it shows. The salon is a space for guests and stylists to be themselves and that’s a magical thing.

About Me

From a young age I always knew that I wanted to be in the beauty industry. I started Hair School in Early 2008 and by the time I was 18, I was working full time in a busy, education driven salon. I traveled a lot and participated in photo shoots and shows with some of the industries best! I am grateful for every journey this life has given me because it has ultimately led me to this beautiful place I get to call my home, and my own! I am a Mom of 2 incredible Boys with the most unconditional love from my Husband, Jeff, who I have the honor to share life with since 2006. I love to push myself in all aspects of life, with exploring new places, working out and hot yoga.

What do you love most about your job?

Creating gorgeous hair is my absolute passion, and human connection is my driving force! The smile on someone’s face when you give them a new look is magical to me, but the trust you build with each and every person is what I live for. Spending and hour (or sometimes 4+) with another person, making them feel great, can be the best form of therapy. I love that I get to express myself and know my clients have confidence in me to create something wonderful!

Why do you love working at Lumari?

My dream has always been to own a space where beauticians and service providers can have their creative freedom, to be themselves, and provide the services they are passionate about, all while functioning as a team. Tanya and I nailed that at Lumari. With 7 years of hard work, we have built our home away from home. We have some of the most talented, supportive, independent business woman, who I also get to call my best friends. When you come into our space, you are enveloped with positive energy.

About Me

My passion for hair started at a young age when I would not allow my mother to enjoy a day at the salon without me! When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always a “Ballerina Hairdresser.” I stuck with one them! I have been a stylist for 15 years and feel as if I’m exactly where I need to be working at Lumari Salon. I thrive off of the relationships I have built with my clients through the years, and my love for what I do every. I love unicorns, superhero’s, penguins, the wizard of Oz, and nail art. You can always find me with fun nails! I’m marrying the man of my dreams next year and we are doggy parents to our sweet pitbull Minnie.

Spending quality time with my soon-to-be husband. Going for rides and listening to music, cooking, binge watching our favorite shows. And making memories with my niece and nephew. They fill my heart! Quality time is my love language, so I will pretty much do anything, or go anywhere, if it involves the people I love!

I received my massage training and education at Cedar Stone School of Massage in Virginia while my wife was completing her graduate degree. After graduation, I was hired by my school as a massage therapist, deep tissue teaching assistant, and lab instructor. Throughout my schooling, I was able to learn unique massage techniques with Native American influences. This cultivated a diverse skillset that I can now use later in my career. I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2013. For the last several years I have worked with the local community, providing thousands of hours of massage to a diverse array of clientele.
